The Teacher's Appreciation Day is part of the Teacher Day and it is being celebrated each year to look back on the roles of teachers to our children. Teachers are also known as the second parents of our children, they strive to educate, guide and take care of them. That's why teachers deserve to be appreciated by their students and their family.

On best way to show appreciation to a teacher is by creating a homemade greeting card to say "Thank you." Cards can be made of any materials that we can easily find in a local store. Below are the steps to create a homemade greeting card:

A. Look for materials in a scrapbook or craft store that you'll be using to create your card. Be sure that it is acid and lignin free, this is to protect your photos if you're going to include it in your card. Pictures can be damage if it gets in contact with acid that some paper contain, while lignin is a component of wood that in overtime becomes acid also.

Select carefully the type of scrapbook paper, envelope and the pen that you're going to use. Use adhesive that are photo safe, using adhesive squares is also good it can make a card look like 3D. Add glue sticks and tape runners on your list.

B. Think of the size of the card that you are going to create, it should be smaller than the envelope that you have selected. The card paper should also be twice (2x) as big as the card that you will be creating in terms of length and width. Use a paper trimmer or a sharp cutter to cut your card. Fold it in the center or use a bone folder to make it look professional.

C. Arrange all the materials on your table and start thinking of the content that you will write it is also good to include quotes that have something to do or related to teaching.

D. Start working on the cover of you card, arrange all the embellishment using a glue and adhesives.

E. Put some embellishment also inside the card, just make sure all are properly attached and no embellishments will fall off.

F. Using a photo safe pen, write some heartwarming messages on the photos that you have decided to include in your card. Don't forget to add some quotes from a famous teacher, sign the card and your child should sign the card also. Make sure all adhesive and glues are dry already before closing the envelope of the card. Finally write the name of the teacher that you'll be giving it to.
